Chalkhill Primary School runs its own breakfast club in our well-equipped Dining Hall every morning during term time from 8:30am. There is a cost of £1 or £4 per week for children to attend.
Children can come into the playground from 8:30am to meet friends, chat and play. The bell rings at 8:55am to start the day. The school day begins with a 'Wake Up Shake Up' dance routine in the playground. After that children are led by their class teacher to their classroom for registration. We then have a class or music assembly, or lessons. We have 17 classes; two in each year group and three in year 1 and year 2. Each class has 30 pupils. All the classes have a Teaching Assistant to help with the children’s learning. For more information on the curriculum we provide, please see our curriculum link. Children are encouraged to bring a bottle of water everyday which they can drink during the day. They also need to bring their reading book bag and pencil case with set equipment.
We have a morning break from 10:45am to 11:00 am for Key Stage 1 and Year 5 and from 11:00am – 11:15am for Key Stage 2 classes (except Year 5). We have two climbing frames and a Muga (a fenced sports area for ball games). We also have a beautiful Eco-Garden where children can help tend the plants or just sit and enjoy the peace with quiet activities.
Lunch is from 12:00 to 12:55pm for foundation stage and Key Stage 1 and 12:15pm-1:10pm for Key Stage 2. The children will eat their food then have access to the outside facilities for more free-time, or they can choose a club to join. We provide a exciting new menu of hot meals at lunchtimes or children can choose to bring their own lunches. If your child is entitled to, or you think they are entitled to free school meals then please contact London Borough of Brent. Most of you will be aware that local councils are facing significant cuts to their budgets and this is likely to result in a reduction of funding. In order to get the money that Chalkhill Primary School is entitled to, we ask that parents who qualify for FMS apply for them even if they do not wish to take them up.
Extra – Curricular Clubs
