Dear Parents, Pupils and Carers,
This week, the Early Years team presented an incredible art exhibition to celebrate their autumn term topic, ‘Marvellous Me’. The exhibition contained a range of pupils’ creations based on Keith Haring’s artwork. The children enjoyed the experience throughout, with the project providing plenty of opportunities to develop art techniques such as drawing, cutting, painting and sculpting. Thank you to our art coordinator, Mrs Sathyarooban, and the Early Years team for organising such a wonderful project and exhibition.
In March, the school had requested nominations for two parents to join the school’s governing board, which we have now successfully appointed for. I would like to take this opportunity to officially welcome Mrs Gabriella Beckles-Raymond and Mrs Masomah Shareed to Chalkhill Primary School’s governing body.
After half term, we will be reintroducing soft starts to the beginning of the school day for pupils in Years 1-4. The entrance gate by the football pitch will be opened at 8:30am as usual and the pupils will then be directed into class by the adults on duty. The start of the day procedures for pupils in Nursery, Reception, Year 5 and Year 6 will remain as they are.
Finally, I would like to thank you for your continued support since the start of term. We do understand that it has been a challenging past few months, and it has taken time getting used to the new rules and routines in school but we appreciate your cooperation. I wish you a relaxing and peaceful half term. School will resume on Monday 2nd November.
