Dear Parents, Pupils and Carers,
I hope you are all in good health and staying safe. This week at Chalkhill has been busy as we welcomed back pupils from Year 6. It was lovely to see so many pupils return to school with such enthusiasm and a readiness to learn. Over the past few weeks, we have been working tirelessly to ensure that the school site is adhering to government guidelines in order for all pupils and staff to return to a safe environment. This has included reorganising classrooms, setting up ‘bubbles’, creating timetables and placing signage and markings in and around school. All of the additional measures we have taken is included in the school’s risk assessment, which is available on the school website
Although there have been many changes to the usual set-up, it has been a successful return for the Year 6 pupils who have thoroughly enjoyed their week:
‘On the first day, it was difficult to get into a routine but after that we became familiar with all the changes. It has been fun returning to school. It is much better than staying at home.’ (Bubble 1)
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Chalkhill staff and the Year 6 team for supporting the pupils upon their return. If your child is in Year 6 and you intend on sending them back to school, you must contact the school office in advance so that a thorough induction can be carried out. Please note that we will not be accepting any additional pupils during the middle of a week.
